Rolls Royce Ghost BLACK BADGE - The Most Rock And Roll Roller Yet!  27 Oct 2021

RockNRoller

Recently I had the privilege of attending the most unique car launch ever – hosted completely in the dark!

Taking place in a private aviation hangar, I was invited to the unveiling of the new Rolls Royce Ghost Black Badge. The spirit of this car is fully lifestyle driven, presenting itself as a statement car for those who want to let their hair down on the weekends.

The new 6.75-litre V12 engine now delivers increased power at 600PS and torque now reaching 900NM. Generally, the real changes here are the aesthetic subtleties, including the pantheon grill now illuminated through backlighting and the Spirit of Ecstasy badge exclusively appearing in black at the front of the magnificent car.

The new Ghost Black Badge now features bespoke alloy wheels introduced in Black Badge style, with a carbon fibre barrel for the first time. The juxtaposition of brand and car certainly interplay in these wheels; when would we ever have expected Rolls Royce to implement carbon fibre wheels, an element usually reserved for brands such as Ferrari?

The revised drivetrain and chassis have been re-engineered for more urgent and dynamic performance, whilst inside Rolls Royce debuts striking Turchese Leather and Technical Carbon veneer.

Stepping inside this resplendent vehicle, we had the opportunity to take it out for a drive. Rolls Royce have put on an illuminated night runway, allowing us to put the Ghost through its paces on the road. I’m blown away by its Jekyll and Hyde nature, allowing you to shift between wafting along in luxury to completely change the character of how it feels.

Everything about this Rolls Royce is just a little bit more poised, but it doesn’t compromise in terms of ride quality. I have a feeling we’ll be spending a lot more time with this car in the future.
