My Tesla Model 3 Performance Has Arrived! 30 Jun 2021

Tesla Black 2

After spending a few weeks with a demo Tesla, I have finally taken delivery of my very own new model!

I took ownership of their demonstrator for a few weeks while mine wasn’t ready and now I’m pleased to finally have my hands on it.

As environmentally friendly cars become more and more popular across the world, there is still something obviously unique about the Tesla family.

One of the main reasons I chose a Tesla was the wide-ranging charging network, which is ridiculously good, and definitely the industry best so far. So far I’ve not experienced any range-anxiety, and feel completely comfortable cruising between super-charging points, which are all helpfully mapped out on the car’s sleek interactive touch screen.

During my first charging experience, I rolled up to the charging points, which are beautiful by the way, and found myself parked up next to a gentleman who quickly realised I had no idea how to actually charge my new car. Upon explaining to him that this was new to me, he exploded with enthusiasm, welcoming me to the seemingly elusive club of Tesla owners. It was like I’d been inducted into another world.

And this level of excitement and passion about a car brand is what I wanted to understand more about when choosing my new Tesla Model 3 Performance.

The car’s 480bhp engine is remarkable for an entry level car, and it packs a democratised performance (in a straight line). However, It carries the same inherent problems as other electric cars; for a small car it’s heavy, coming in at 1800kg. And it boasts one of the worst steering wheels I have ever felt, feeling at least a 90% disconnect with what’s going on around you.
